SDI Open Water Diver
Learning to dive can change your life. You are no longer limited to just the land, but now can travel the world exploring the oceans. Choosing the right dive center and instructor to start this journey is so important. Our experienced team of instructors will
- Go over the elearning with you in our air-conditioned classroom.
- Demonstrate and allow you to practice skills in our pool at your pace. No rush, time to get used to the feeling of diving for the first time
- Explore the Panglao reef during four sea dives on different dive sites. Dives are usually 40 minutes or longer
About your course - Open Water
Guess what ? We want you to get into the water as soon as possible ! You’ll be doing a short pool session and an ocean dive on the first day
Over a coffee we will sit down and chat about the equipment and what you have learned from the elearning and discuss how you’ll be using it in the pool and one the dives
Then, we’ll jump in the pool and try out our first breathes underwater. So cool !
The pool training will make you comfortable with your equipment and essential skills. Also you’ll learn the art of diving. Slow finning, controlling your buoyancy and yoga-like breathing
After lunch we’ll move to the sea for your first boat dive. On a shallow dive you’ll have the chance to explore the reef with your instructor and also practice a couple of the skills that you learned in the pool. After the dive we’ll get our the Coral Reef ID books and talk about the amazing things we have seen
Day two starts back in the class to learn more about diving and relate it to what you have already experienced
Before lunch is your second pool session to learn a few new skills and improve your movement and control underwater. Our instructors are super patient and always attentive of your comfort
After lunch we’ll move to the sea for your second boat dive. On a shallow dive to a max. of 12m you’ll now starting exploring the reef wall as well as repeat the skills that you have already mastered in the pool
Day three is all about diving.
You’ll be completing two reef dives to a maximum depth of 18m. Along the way we’ll be exploring new dive sites, encountering new fish and corals underwater. We also practice essential contigency skills and assisting other divers. Diving is a very safe sport, as we all learn not just to take care of ourselves but also some simple skills to assist other divers
For those divers that have already signed up for the Advanced program, we will also discuss the next two days of adventure

You’ve now learned the essential skills of diving. Now is when the fun and adventure truly begins !
Today you’ll be completing two or three dives that move you beyond the open water course
Before each dive we will have an extended briefing to discuss the dive and what you have studied. Today’s dive may include
- Marine Life Dive – Identify fish and invertebrates
- Photography / video dive – we will provide you a GoPro to take your own memories home
- Advanced buoyancy dive – this is where you learn to fine tune your diving style and become an elite diver
- Night dive – The reef is amazing at night. With the flashlights the colors come alive and we move much more slowly than during the time. Plenty of time to get close and enjoy the night critters
You’ve come a long way since you first tried diving in the pool 😀
Today you’ll be completing the final two or three dives to earn your coveted SDI Advanced Adventure rating. This certification will allow you to dive deeper or at night at any dive center worldwide
Today’s dive will include
- Deep Dive – Go beyond the opne water license to as deep as 30 meters.
- Navigation dive – Why rely on a guide? if you know how to navigate with your buddy then you can explore the reef at your own pace
At the end of the day it will be cause for celebration. You have taken the next step on your diving journey. Today SDI Advanced Adventure, then next rescue diver or divemaster and then instructor !!

The answer is everything you need to become a diver is included. Elearning or loan of the manual, class [face to face or online], equipment rental, boat/pool/local tax fees, digital logbook, digital certification card
The only extra – if you would like a plastic license card for your wallet – add Peso 350
Yes, we are very flexible with scheduling. You can take longer for all courses, as well as take a day off if you’d like a break.
If you require additional dives to complete the training you can purchase extra dives so that you learn at your own pace
Absolutely ! As one of the big three dive agencies our licenses are accepted in every country and also by other agencies for further training
If you have a health concern then contact us and we can send you the SDI medical form. This is a form that you self complete and if necessary have a doctor complete a health check for diving
Yes, you should be able to swim 200m, or snorkel 300m. You’ll have a chance to practice while you are here
Sure, we teach children from the age of ten years old to get their Junior Open Water and Junior Advanced certifcations.
As long as your children are comfortable in the water then often Kids are easier to teach than adults!
Our maximum ratio is four students to one instructor. If you are coming as part of a larger group then we can add instructors so that you can dive together
Absolutely. If you are a group of four or more traveling together then of course we can offer you a great price. Just make sure to ask me AFTER my first coffee in the morning 🤣
