SDI Advanced Adventure Diver course
The Open Water course taught you how to dive. Now on the SDI Advanced Adventure program you’ll explore five diving speciality area of diving. It’s super fun – no formal classroom or pool, just longer briefings and then five different kinds of dives
You’ll be diving five different dive sites over two days. You’ll have time to refresh and improve your open water skills while also adding a whole lot of adventure to your diving. By the time the course if finished you’ll be hooked on diving !
SDI Advanced Adventure Diver
The course is fun and designed to improve you as a diver. We keep talking and class to a minimum and emphasise practical skills. Together with your instructor you will
- Have the choice of borrowing the manual, or buying the elearning
- Go over the manual quizzes or elearning in our air-conditioned classroom, or by the pool side
- Choose three other dives to complement the required Deep and Navigation dives
- Explore the Panglao reef with five boat dives on different dive sites. Dives are usually 50 minutes or longer
- The schedule is flexible. You can make one to three dives a day and take days off. You decide your own schedule – just let us know in advance 😁
About your course - Advanced Open Water
No one wants to study books on the beach.
If you have the time then let us know in advance and we can send you the manuals or elearning. We can then schedule a couple of short ZOOM calls to answer all your questions and explain all the materials. That means when you arrive it will be all about the diving !
You’ve now learned the essential skills of diving. Now is when the fun and adventure truly begins !
Today you’ll be completing two or three dives that move you beyond the open water course
Before each dive we will have an extended briefing to discuss the dive and what you have studied. Today’s dive may include
- Marine Life Dive – Identify fish and invertebrates
- Photography / video dive – we will provide you a GoPro to take your own memories home
- Advanced buoyancy dive – this is where you learn to fine tune your diving style and become an elite diver
- Night dive – The reef is amazing at night. With the flashlights the colors come alive and we move much more slowly than during the time. Plenty of time to get close and enjoy the night critters
Today you’ll be completing the final two or three dives to earn your coveted SDI Advanced Adventure rating. This certification will allow you to dive deeper or at night at any dive center worldwide.
Today’s dive will include
- Deep Dive – Go beyond the open water license to as deep as 30 meters.
- Navigation dive – Why rely on a guide? if you know how to navigate with your buddy then you can explore the reef at your own pace
At the end of the day it will be cause for celebration. You have taken the next two steps on your diving journey. Today SDI Advanced Adventure , then next perhaps rescue, or divemaster and then even instructor .

You probably heard about nitrox on your open water course. By reducing the nitrogen in your tank you can extend your time underwater. Longer dives and shorter suface intervals allow you to explore more reefs and wrecks to depths of about 30m
- The Enriched Air Nitrox diver course has no required dives
- Choose to borrow the manual or buy elearning
- We’ll include two nitrox tanks to use during two of your Advanced Adventure dive
- Become certified as an SDI Advanced Adventure Diver and SDI Computer Nitrox Diver

Your instructor will show you how to analyse your tank, label and log the tank and then set your dive computer. Underwater you don’t feel any different – it feels just like an air dive

The only extra – if you would like a plastic license card for your wallet – add Peso 350
Yes, we are very flexible with scheduling. You can do one dive a day and spread the course out, or take the advanced and nitrox courses together in as little as two days
Absolutely ! SDI is one of the big three dive agencies . Our licenses are accepted in every country and also by other agencies for further training
When you thinking of ‘advanced diver’ or advanced open water diver’ . That is the SDI Advanced Adventure program. 5 dives / 2 days / loads of fun – sign up here
The SDI Advanced Diver program goes beyond other agencies courses. After Open Water you complete four speciality courses, one of which could be Advanced Adventure diver and also log 25 dives. Sure, we teach children from the age of ten years old to get their Junior Advanced Adventure Diver certifcations.
As long as your children are comfortable in the water and certified as Jr.Open Water divers with any agency. The maximum depth of the deep dive for children is 21 meters
