ERDI Public Safety Diver Training

Our ERDI training programs are structured into four progressive sections, allowing teams to build capability step by step — from foundational rescue skills through to advanced operational leadership:

1. Basic Rescue Training
First Aid and Rescue Diver — essential skills that underpin all public safety diving.

2. ERDI Public Safety Diver Level 1
ERDI Tender and ERD I — core operational training for working public safety dive teams.

3. ERDI Specialty Operations Courses
Full Face Mask and Drysuit — critical equipment skills for real-world conditions.

4. Advanced ERDI Programs
ERD II and ERDI Supervisor — for divers and leaders requiring higher-level operational competence and team management.

ERDI Programs

Professional public safety diving doesn’t need to be complex or cost-prohibitive. Our ERDI training programs are designed to help civil defense and emergency response teams build real-world capability — progressively, efficiently, and within budget.

We structure training into four clear stages, allowing your team to develop skills over time without unnecessary expense:

Built for Real Teams, Real Budgets
We understand that many public safety and civil defense units operate with limited funding. Our approach is flexible:

  • Train in stages — build capability over time
  • Focus on essential skills first, not unnecessary extras
  • Use existing team equipment wherever possible
  • Keep logistics simple and cost-effective

Pricing depends on group size and delivery format, so we tailor each program to your needs rather than forcing a fixed package.

Flexible Training Delivery
Most courses are conducted in Panglao, but for teams, we can come to you — reducing travel costs and allowing training in your actual operating environment.

  • Ideal group size: up to 8 participants
  • Larger teams can be trained in rotating sub-groups
  • Group pricing is structured as expenses + a fixed training fee, ensuring transparency and control over costs

Individual training is available, but participants must be part of — or preparing to join — an active public safety dive team.

Train with Purpose
Public safety diving is not about certification — it’s about preparedness, discipline, and the ability to operate effectively when it matters most.

If your team is looking to build or improve its diving capability in a practical, scalable, and cost-conscious way, we’re ready to work with you.

FAQs

Public Safety Diver training prepares divers for search, rescue, and recovery operations in low visibility, contaminated, and high-risk environments—not recreational diving. Teams may be professional, part-time or volunteer

Not necessarily. Entry points like ERDI Tender allow non-divers to begin. For in-water roles (ERD I), an Open Water certification or equivalent is required and many teams rerquire all of their divers to be rescue trainined

Yes. Surface support roles (Tender) are critical—handling lines, communications, and scene control. Many effective team members are non-divers.

FFMs allow voice communication, airway protection, and contamination control, making them essential for real-world operations. They are required for ERD I.

Drysuits provide thermal protection and contamination isolation, especially in polluted or cold water. They are required for ERD II-level operations.

Yes. PSD training specifically prepares divers for zero visibility (“black water”) diving, using tactile navigation, line work, and team coordination.

PSD diving focuses on task-loading, discipline, and team procedures rather than exploration. Safety protocols and mission objectives take priority over dive profile.

Yes. Many programs can be combined (e.g., Tender + ERD I) depending on candidate experience, helping teams train efficiently within budget constraints.

No. Training can begin with basic equipment, and advanced gear  such as bail-out tanks and FFM we can provide. Advanced gear such as, drysuits can be introduced progressively. Existing team equipment is used where possible.

Yes. We offer on-site training, which reduces costs and allows teams to train in your actual operational environment.
