Typical course schedule
Typically the course is two days when combined with The Open Water Instructor course IDC, as you will already have learned how to prepare teaching presentations.
For candidate without teaching experience we prefer to take two and a half days for the course.
- Online: Teaching methodology, class review and academic teaching practice
- Day 1: First Aid & CPR practical review, CPR/AED teaching practice
- Day 2: First Aid teaching, scenarios, evaluations including O2 Provider and Bloodborne Pathogens units
- Day 3 (if applicable): O₂ and Bloodborne instructor modules, final assessments
You will access to a full set of teaching material. Including powerpoint presentations, adult & child CPR manikins, an AED trainer unit and first aid supplies. For the O2 Provider course there are demand regulators and continuous flow with non-rebreather mask [NRB] and pocket mask

First aid and CPR ratings are valid for 24 months. If your rating has expired then you can sign up for a refesher course with us prior to starting the instructor course
